Trivandrum: Passenger Reservation System (PRS) centres in the jurisdiction of Thiruvananthapuram Division at Thrisur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Ernakulam Junction, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Kayankulam Junction, Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram Central and Nagercoil Junction railway stations are fully prepared for providing refunds and facilitating ticket reservations of the notified special trains.
The PRS centres at Ernakulam Junction and Thiruvananthapuram Central operate in two shifts (08.00 hrs. to 20.00 hrs). All the other PRS centres are open from 09.00 hrs. to 17.00 hrs. Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Thiruvananthapuram Division appeals to all the passengers holding PRS tickets to avail the ticket refund from any of the above mentioned PRS centres duly following COVID19 safety protocols.
In the fight against COVID-19, PRS Centres strictly follow COVID19 safety norms. Passengers should always wear face masks properly, avoid crowding and follow social distancing stringently. The counters are also sanitized frequently. The cooperation of passengers in ensuring the smooth functioning of PRS centres has enabled Thiruvananthapuram Division to provide a refund to the tune of Rs 11.13 Crores during the period June – July 2020 for the trains cancelled from 22nd March 2020. Total refunds for the corresponding period through all the divisions in Southern Railway stood at Rs 64.49 Crores (Chennai Division(Rs.27.10 Cr.), Thiruvananthapuram Division (Rs.11.13 Cr.), Salem Division (Rs.7.44 Cr.), Palakkad Division (Rs.6.85 Cr.), Madurai Division (Rs.6.81 Cr.) and Tiruchchirappalli Division (Rs. 5.13 Cr.).
