The Climate Action Special Edition of Science Express, a unique Science Exhibition focusing on Climate Change has covered 1,45,000 kms across the country during the previous eight phases. With more than 1.65 crores visitors, it is perhaps the most visited Science Exhibition in the world so far.
Science Express is an innovative mobile science exhibition mounted on a 16 coach AC train which has been custom-built for Department of Science & Technology by Indian Railways. Of the 16 coaches of Science Express Climate Action Special, exhibition in eight coaches is exclusively devoted to information, case studies and material related to various aspect of climate change, the underlying science, impacts, adaptation activities, mitigation solutions and policy approaches in a manner that is easy to understand and interesting for not just school students but also the masses. In rest eight coaches, there are exhibits and activities. Three coaches of the train were fitted with solar panels on the rooftop.
This time the exhibition train will be visiting Kayamkulam and Guruvayoor stations in Trivandrum division and Kannur station under Palakkad division. At Kayamkulam, the train will be available from 01st to 04th July, 2017 (four days) and at Guruvayoor, from 05th to 07th July 2017 (three days). The exhibition is free to visit and primarily targets students and Teachers. Special visit for schools is also possible.
The Exhibition will be open from 10 am to 5 pm at Kayamkulam and Guruvayoor. Mobile Phone/ Camera/ Bags/ Cigarettes/ Match-box/ Tobacco/ Water Bottles /Any liquid /sharp /Pointed objects, etc will not allowed on the train.
