Thrissur: Shri R N Singh, General Manager of Southern Railway, has conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Thrissur–Ernakulam section, as well as the Thrissur and Ernakulam Town Railway Stations. He was accompanied by S M Sharma, Divisional Railway Manager of Thiruvananthapuram Division; and other senior officials from Southern Railway, Construction Organization and Division.
The purpose of the visit was to review the ongoing safety works, passenger amenity improvements, and station re-development initiatives in the division.
At Thrissur, the GM inspected the deep screening track maintenance work, and ongoing passenger amenity works. He also appreciated the students of Vidya College of Science and Technology, Thrissur who were involved in the promotion of the UTS Mobile Application which will help passengers to travel hassle-free with paperless ticketing. Furthermore, the GM inspected the Thrissur-Ernakulam section and assessed the progress of the station redevelopment project at Ernakulam North Station.
In order to expedite the maintenance works and ensure strict adherence to best safety practices, General Manager of Southern Railway conducted a thorough inspection of the major sections across all six divisions of Southern Railway on 21st and 22nd June 2023. During the two-day inspection, the GM inspected stations, new projects, track renewal works, bridges and also reviewed the functioning of points & crossings, signals and yards at significant locations.
