Trivandrum: Train No. 20633 Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Central Vande Bharat Express that departed from Kasargod on December 4, 2024, faced inordinate delays as it came to an abrupt stop after leaving Shornur junction stop due to a technical issue.
According to a press release from the Palakkad Division, the train came to a stop shortly after passing Shoranur Junction at 17:50 hours. Despite the immediate efforts of the onboard crew and technical staff, the issue could not be resolved on-site. To avoid disruption to other rail traffic and enable detailed troubleshooting, the train was pulled back to Shoranur Junction at 19:35 hours using a diesel locomotive. A new relief electric locomotive was attached at Shoranur Junction, and after thorough safety checks, the train resumed its journey at 20:45 hours.
To facilitate passengers bound for Kochi Nedumbassery airport, an additional stoppage was provided at Angamali station. The root cause of the technical glitch will be thoroughly analysed during scheduled maintenance at Thiruvananthapuram.
The 20633 Vande Bharat Express finally arrived at Thiruvananthapuram Central (TVC) on December 05 at 02:15 hours with a delay of 03:35 hours.
