Trivandrum: Southern Railway is taking various measures to contain the spread of resurgence of COVID-19 pandemic, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ministry of Home Affairs from time to time. Southern Railway has been continuously appealing to passengers to follow COVID appropriate behaviour (CAB) such as social distancing, wearing of a mask and regular washing of hands while in the Railway premises and aboard the train.

Reservation counters open at Trivandrum, Ernakulam Jn & Kozhikode stations
Trivandrum: Indian Railways has introduced 200 timetabled trains from 1st June 2020. As part of this Southern Railway has announced Train no: 02076/02075 (Trivandrum-Kozhikode-Trivandrum Jan Shatabdi Spl), Train no: 02082/02081 (Trivandrum-Kannur-Trivandrum Jan Shatabdi Spl), Train no: 06346/06345 (Trivandrum-Lokmanya Tilak-Trivandrum spl), Train no: 02284/02283 (Nizamuddin-Ernakulam-Nizamuddin Duronto spl weekly), T.no: 02617/02618 (Ernakulam-Nizamuddin-Ernakulam SF spl) that are scheduled to run from 1st of June and also Rajdhani special trains have already been introduced between New Delhi-Trivandrum and New Delhi-Chennai Central.

In view of Corona Virus outbreak, Indian Railways has suspended all types of passenger train services, that is, all Mail/Express trains (including premium trains), passenger trains and suburban trains from 22nd March, 2020 up to 24:00 hours/midnight of 14th April, 2020. Further, ticket refund rules have also been relaxed in order to avoid crowding and maintain social distancing to contain the spread of Coronavirus CoVID -19. This relaxation is applicable only for PRS counter generated tickets and rules for e-tickets remains the same.

Trivandrum: In view of the government advisory in the wake of Covid -19 to avoid crowding and practice social distancing. Indian Railways has relaxed Refund Rules for PRS counter generated tickets. However, all rules for e-ticket remain the same as the passenger does not need to come to the Station for a refund of the ticket.
