Trivandrum: To implement COVID-19 safety protocols and facilitate the safe movement of passengers travelling by trains, railway administration has decided to implement a special passenger entry/exit plan as detailed below from 05th June 2020 at Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station in consultation with the district administration, law enforcement authorities etc.
1. Entry to platforms will be strictly restricted and only reserved passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the platform.
2. Medical Screening as a part of COVID-19 protocols is compulsory for all passengers. The screening for outbound trains will start 90 minutes before the departure of the train. Those passengers who arrive late and fail to attend the screening will not be allowed to travel.
3. Entry to Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station will be permitted only through Main Entrance (1st Entry) at Thampanoor for the reserved passengers. Passengers arriving by trains will exit through two gates;
a) Gate at Premium Parking Area (opposite KSRTC bus stand) and
b) Gate at New Ticket Counter (Reservation Building).
4. Generally, departure of trains will be from Platform No. 4 & 5 and arriving trains will be dealt on Platform No. 2 & 3 at Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station.
5. Parking of vehicles is not allowed in railway station premises. To avoid traffic congestion, vehicles bringing passengers should enter and exit through the Railway Station Main Entrance at Thampanoor Junction (opposite Ponnara Shreedharan Park circle) taking minimum time for dropping passengers.
6. 2nd Entry (Power House Road) will remain closed and no entry/exit will be allowed through the second entry.
