Chennai: Southern Railway has introduced an Executive Vistadome AC LHB coach on the highly patronised Madurai–Guruvayur–Madurai Express, offering passengers a unique opportunity to experience the breathtaking scenic beauty of the Sengottai–Punalur ghat section, including the picturesque Aryankavu Pass.
The Vistadome coach will be temporarily operated Train No. 16327 Madurai–Guruvayur Express on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, for journeys commencing from Madurai from 22nd October 2026 to 15th January 2027.
In the return direction, Train No. 16328 Guruvayur–Madurai Express will operate with the Vistadome coach on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, for journeys commencing from Guruvayur from 23rd October 2026 to 16th January 2027.
The introduction of the Executive Vistadome AC coach adds a special attraction to the Madurai–Guruvayur Express. Featuring expansive glass windows and rotatable seats, the tourist-friendly coach offers panoramic views of the Western Ghats along the scenic Sengottai–Punalur ghat section.
Passengers will be able to enjoy the curvatious routes, lush green landscapes and mountain vistas of sengottai gap connecting Kerala and Tamil Nadu in comfort, combining the convenience of rail travel with the natural splendour of the region. The service is particularly appealing to nature enthusiasts, families and tourists seeking a distinctive journey with Basic Fare for the Executive Vistadome reasonable at ₹515, while the full end-to-end journey costs ₹1,875.
