Trivandrum: Union Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge), Shri K J Alphons flagged off the inaugural special train No. 16319 Kochuveli – Banaswadi Humsafar Express at the Kochuveli railway station here, at 11.00 hrs. today in the presence of State Minister for Co-operation, Tourism and Devaswom, Shri Kadakampally Surendran; Shri O Rajagopal, MLA and Shri A Sampath, MP.
Addressing the gathering, the Union Minister of State for Tourism, appreciated and thanked the railway administration for this initiative of introducing Humsafar express between Kochuveli-Banaswadi. This train will fulfil the transport requirements of people travelling between Thiruvananthapuram and Bangalore cities. The inaugural special train was well patronised.
Shirish Kumar Sinha, Divisional Railway Manager, Thiruvananthapuram Division; P Jayakumar, ADRM; senior railway officials and staff participated in the function. A large number of passengers, public and rail enthusiasts were also present on the occasion.
