Trivandrum: Shirish Kumar Sinha, Divisional Railway Manager of Thiruvananthapuram Division today awarded three railwaymen for their alertness and timely action that prevented possible mishaps.
On 01.02.2019, Biju Thomas, Senior Section Engineer, Permanent Way, Varkala detected rail crack at a Point in Kochuveli yard. This timely detection of rail crack averted possible untoward incidents.
V Vijayan, Keyman, Thiruvananthapuram, detected a rail crack at Thiruvananthapuram Central yard on 10.02.2019. Due to the alertness and swift action of this railwayman, a possible mishap was averted.
K M Thayapathi, Engineering Controller, while travelling in Train No.56311 Thiruvananthapuram – Nagercoil passenger train on 13.02.2019, felt unusual jerk and noise and alerted authorities. His observation subsequently led to the detection of a rail crack. The alertness and timely action of this railway man helped avoid a potential mishap.
In recognition and appreciation of the alertness and timely action of the above-mentioned railway employees that helped avert possible mishaps, DRM of Thiruvananthapuram Division presented them a merit certificate and a cash award today at Divisional Railway Manager’s Office, Thiruvananthapuram Division in the presence of P Jayakumar, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Thiruvananthapuram Division and other officials. The officials appreciated the employees while the DRM further encouraged them to keep up the good work.
