New Delhi: Railways have announced that all Passenger/Express/Superfast and Premium train services will remain suspended till March-end, ie 24.00 hrs on 31.03.2020 to strengthen the efforts already taken to contain the spread of COVID-19. Long-distance trains which started on or before 22-03-2020 will be allowed to reach their respective destination.
All commercial activities (BO\RO\PO) would be closed at all stations but goods sheds would be opened as per requirements as goods trains are made to run to cater essential needs of the general public. All commercial activities booking, parcels, reservation, parking, catering, and other contracts will stay closed till 2400 hrs of 31.3.2020.
Keeping in mind the relaxed refund rules and in compliance with various advisories issued for social distancing and against crowding in public places, no ticket counter in Reservation office for reserved tickets and no UTS ticket counters in booking office for unreserved ticket will operate during this period from 22-3-2020 up to 31-3-2020. Hence passengers are requested not to visit stations for claiming refund of the reserved ticket at PRS counters in Reservation office as they will not be functioning anyway for all purposes during this period up to 31-3-2020.
No fresh advance booking in ticket counters in Reservation office will be done during this period up to 31-3-2020. However online booking for advance reservation through IRCTC website will remain available.
