Trivandrum: A Thermal Imaging Scanner with Artificial Intelligence was commissioned at Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station under the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of PRAMA Hikvision India and Chandran Tharoor Foundation.
It has helped to introduce Hikvision Temperature Measurement Walkthrough Detector, a first of its kind thermal scanning technology in India. This equipment at Thiruvananthapuram Central Central Railway Station will be used for screening train passengers for their body temperature in a hassle-free manner.
The state of the art facility will ensure and maintain the protocol for social distancing, temperature screening through Artificial intelligence (AI) for face detection, alerts for high/abnormal temperature, mask recognition, and isolation if required, through 100% non-contact screening process. This equipment serves two purposes viz. detecting metal objects and screening body temperature.
This new initiative will be very helpful for screening passengers at Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station. The technical assistance was provided by Meledom Traders and the equipment will help to screen 45,000-48,000 passengers daily. It is placed at the main entrance of the Thiruvanthapuram Railway station.
The commissioning and demonstration were done in the presence of Dr Rajesh Chandran, IRTS, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Thiruvananthapuram Division and other railway officials along with Rohith Suresh, Special Asst to Dr Shashi Tharoor, MP, Dr Unnikrishnan and Syam Kumar, Meledom Group.
