Trivandrum: Passenger reservation counters at Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Kayankulam and Kollam stations have started functioning from today. The counters at Thiruvananthapuram Central, Ernakulam Jn. and Thrisur shall work in two shifts – from 08.00 hrs. to 20.00 hrs. The counters at other locations will work in a single general shift from 09.00 hrs. to 17.00 hrs. The passenger reservation counters are functioning at Thiruvananthapuram Central and Ernakulam Jn. railway stations also.
The counters shall perform reservations for special trains and refund of reservations for trains cancelled during lockdown period.
Passengers may note that for counter tickets, 100% refund will be made available for all the cancelled trains (after 22/03/2020) up to 180 days from the date of journey. Hence, there is no urgency to come to the counters.
People coming to reservation centres should follow safety measures such as social distancing, wearing a face mask, etc.
All COVID-19 precautions shall be strictly enforced at the counters. Social distancing norms shall be ensured in queues and between queues. No person will be allowed at the PRS Counters without wearing the masks. The staff are instructed to wear gloves and masks and frequent use of sanitizers will be resorted to while handling cash. The counters will also be sanitized frequently.
