Introduction of Ernakulam – Howrah Antyodaya Express on Feb 27

New Delhi: Train No. 22877/22878 Howrah – Ernakulam – Howrah Antyodaya Express will be introduced by the Union Minister of Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabu on 27th February 2017 (Monday) from Ernakulam Junction, through video conferencing from New Delhi.

A Function will also be held at Ernakula Jn Railway station from 14.30 hrs in connection with this, where elected public representatives and Senior Railway Officials will attend. Specially designed for service on busy routes, the Ernakulam – Howrah is the second Antyodaya Express.

While presenting the Rail Budget for financial year 2016-17, the Minister had declared about four new trains for the long routes in the nation. Among them Antyodaya is one such train that will be fully unreserved superfast express for the dense routes. Railway is the only travel route that mostly common men choose to travel for any reason. Generally one needs to reserve tickets for long route at least 4 months prior to the journey. Sometimes it creates a lot of issues for the traveller but with Antyodaya there will not be any issue as it will be fully unreserved train for the long and dense routes.

Provided with Pleasing interior colour scheme, Slip-free flooring at Doorway & Gangway, Anti-Graffiti coating for exterior painting, these coaches will have bio-toilets for zero discharge of effluents. Toilet occupation indication lights provided at each end near the doorway with better visibility from compartments, a first in general class. Besides, there will be cushioned seats with Aluminium composite panels for enhanced aesthetic interior look of the coaches.

Along with cushioned luggage racks which can serve as seats, the train will also have LED lights and enhanced capacity dustbins. Other Key features include, Additional hand holds in doorway area, J-Hook near longitudinal luggage racks, Multiple Unit cables at both ends of the coach, Vestibuled ends for internal movement of the passengers, Mobile charging point, Fire Extinguisher with anti-theft lock, and FRP (Fibre Reinforced Plastic) Modular Toilets.

    As it is a long distance train Atleast a seat should be guaranteed for each passenger. No of tickets issued should be restricted to the seating capacity’s
