Trivandrum: Railways have informally declared the reopening of the much awaited Kollam – Sengottai line with the announcement of a special train via this route which was closed for gauge conversion. In order to clear the extra rush of traffic, the following special trains will run in the Tambaram – Kollam – Tambaram sector via Madurai, Tenkasi, Punalur.
Special fare special trains between Tambaram–Kollam
Train No. 06027 Tambaram – Kollam special fare special train will leave Tambaram at 17.30 hrs. on 30.03.2018 and reach Kollam at 10.30 hrs. the next day.
Composition: AC 3-tier – 1, Sleeper Class – 6, Second Class Chair Car – 2, General Second Class – 3 & Luggage-cum-brake van – 2 coaches.

it will be comfortable if this train is made as regular train on alternative days.Now SR has announced this as a biweekly train.if the frequency is increased on fridays and saturdays , there will be a great welcome from people as it leaves tambaram on every fridays.Also actions must be taken in order to make this train as a daily train with the schedule of the Quilon mail which was operated in the meter gauge route.
