Kochi: #GOBIGWITHRAIL, a talk show on the changing world of branding and the potential of railways in transit advertising, was organised by the commercial branch of Thiruvananthapuram Division of Southern Railway, at Kochi on Aug 07, 2019. With the emergence of Advertising and Branding in railways as two major potentials, this talk show was organised to explore the potential of transit advertising in Southern Railway.
The event was inaugurated by Dr Rajesh Chandran IRTS, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Thiruvananthapuram Division. Nagendra Babu IRTS, Chief Commercial Manager, Passenger Services, Southern Railway; and Commercial Managers from various Divisions of Southern Railway addressed the gathering.
Railway Board has liberalized norms for advertising in order to promote transit advertising in Zones & Divisions. To tap the potentials arising due to changing outlook and consequent to railways’ transformation with a professional marketing approach, the Thiruvananthapuram Division hosted this event where all relevant aspects were discussed considering the views of potential investors.
Members from diverse industries such as tourism, media, corporate solutions providers, advertising, IT solutions providers, banking and government organisations participated in the meet. Presentations were made by the participants and panel discussions were held.
Participants appreciated the change in railways’ approach with regard to advertising and lauded the initiative taken by Thiruvananthapuram Division of Southern Railway in organising this event. Representatives from the advertising and marketing industries expressed their keenness to associate with railways in Transit Advertising.
