Trivandrum: Based on encouraging results obtained from trials conducted in selected stations, Railways are going ahead with their green initiative of dispensing with pasting of charts on coaches at all A1, A and B Class Stations. This will be on trial basis for a period of six months from March 1st. For Southern Railway alone, this will result in savings of more than 28 tonnes of Charting paper or Rs.1,70,000/- every year, pointing to a major effort in becoming more eco-friendly.
