GM SR meets MPs in TVC Division jurisdiction

Trivandrum: General Manager, Southern Railway, Shri R N Singh, today held a meeting with the Members of Parliament under the Thiruvananthapuram Division. Key development works, completed and ongoing, pertaining to various constituencies were reviewed and apprised to the MPs. The meeting reflected Southern Railway’s continued commitment to improving passenger amenities and infrastructure.

The meeting was attended by the following Members of Parliament of the region served by Thiruvananthapuram Division. Shri Suresh Gopi, Union Minister of State & MP, Thrissur Constituency; Shri Kodikunnil Suresh, MP, Mavelikkara Constituency; Shri N K Premachandran, MP, Kollam Constituency; Dr Shashi Tharoor, MP, Thiruvananthapuram Constituency; Shri K C Venugopal, MP, Alappuzha Constituency; Shri Anto Antony, MP, Pathanamthitta Constituency; Adv. Adoor Prakash, MP, Attingal Constituency; Shri Hibi Eden, MP, Ernakulam Constituency; Shri C Robert Bruce, MP, Tirunelveli Constituency; Shri V Vijayakumar, MP, Kanniyakumari Constituency; John Brittas, MP (Rajya Sabha); and Shri Haris Beeran, MP (Rajya Sabha).

The GM provided an overview of the functioning of the Southern Railway. He detailed the recent achievements and various initiatives taken to enhance passenger amenities across the zone. Dr. Manish Thaplyal, Divisional Railway Manager, Thiruvananthapuram Division, along with Principal Heads of Departments of Southern Railway, also participated in the meeting.

The MPs deliberated on various issues, including introduction of new trains, provision of additional stoppages, progress on new railway line constructions, extensions of existing services, station development, doubling and electrification works, construction of Road Over Bridges/Road Under Bridges, improvement of passenger amenities, and land acquisition for railway projects. They also offered valuable suggestions for the further development of the Thiruvananthapuram Division and improvement of services.
